Meet Inga, Sr Director, Finance for Stryker in Poland

Updated: Sep 26

Join us as we hear more from her on joining Stryker’s growing finance team, establishing a new business services center in Warsaw and staying centered with yoga.

Why did you join Stryker?

Stryker is an amazing company with great values that focus on people and performance, which is very close to my heart. It’s also a very exciting time to be at Stryker in Poland as with the setting up of the new business services center, I’ve been offered the opportunity to build a team who will drive process improvement while adding value to the business.

What has your journey at Stryker been like? What was the path you took to get where you are today?

Looking back, my first few months with Stryker were very intensive but at the same time very rewarding. I met great people who were passionate about what they do and who were very willing to help and support me. Prior to coming to Stryker, I had the pleasure of opening a couple of shared service centers, but I must say that the journey and experience with Stryker has been and continues to be exceptional.

What does a day in your shoes at Stryker look like?

Every day is different. I meet people from different countries, with different backgrounds and experiences. In the morning I have calls with colleagues from Amsterdam and I end my day speaking to colleagues from Costa Rica. The range of topics covered are also diverse – we might start with an HR topic, move to finance and end on something purely office related. Each day brings something new and this what makes my days very exciting.

Do you have any regrets in your career? What would you have done differently?

I have had a very structured career. I started as an auditor, then worked as a financial controller, which eventually roughly 15 years ago put me on the path to starting my journey with shared services. I am a real enthusiast of the shared services set up which allows us to standardize and atomize processes. The one thing I might regret is maybe that I should have joined Stryker earlier!

What advice would you give someone looking to apply at Stryker?

Apply now! It is an amazing company, and you will meet passionate people and be able to learn every day. At Stryker you can become the best version of yourself and you will be able to find great development opportunities. Just be open to new experiences!

What is life like outside of Stryker?

I am mom of 2 children and I love spending time with them – especially travelling and discovering new places and new cultures. In the past year, I have discovered yoga and that helps keep life in balance and gives me a lot of energy.

What are you listening to and reading right now?

I am a fan of audiobooks, which I can listen to when out for a jog or while in the car. The last book I listened to was about Polish Himalayan Climbers. I was really overwhelmed by how much they had to sacrifice to make their dreams come true. It’s very inspiring.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

I have a twin sister – so be careful not to mistake her with me!
